Tips and Tricks to maximize Zoom experience during the COVID Pandemic.

  • Log into Zoom meeting before starting

Give yourself 5-10 minutes to wait for the meeting to start.

  • Have a well-lit scene

Be sure your face is sufficiently illuminated so viewers can see you.

  • Dress appropriately

Depending on the audience, make sure you are suitably dressed. While rules

always comment about what you wear on your lower half, be careful with this somewhat comical rule. What happens if you have pajama bottoms on, forget, and stand up?

  • Test computer hardware

Make sure the microphone is working properly. Make sure you can hear everyone else too.

  • Double-check if muted or screen turned off

Look at the bottom left of the screen to see if the camera is on/off and the microphone is muted or not. Last thing you want is to have the camera on at an inappropriate time.

  • Consider your background

Be sure it’s tidy and that your photos or books aren’t in bad taste. Be sure someone won’t all of a sudden appear. If needed, click the carrot on video settings and choose a virtual background.
